For our session tonight in ECMP 355, we were to have watched Sir Ken Robinson's talk on Creativity and Education. I really enjoyed his speech because he views education in a similar way as me (from an Arts Ed type of view). There were several interesting points he made:
• We are trying to educate people for a world we have no idea about
• All kids have talent
• Creativity is as important as literacy
• Kids will take a chance and they aren’t frightened with being wrong
• If you are not prepared to be wrong you won’t produce anything creative
• We run our education systems so you can’t make mistakes
• We need to let creativity grow not educate it away

Man he was so right how the art subjects are always last to get funding. What a shame.
