The age of Citizen Journalism has arrived

Kristin talked about how the world has changed in terms of mass media and how the news can be broadcasted to EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE, at ANYTIME using today’s technology. She used the example of the recent coverage of the live inauguration in the United States. Because of technology and mass media more people were able to be apart of this event with instant coverage that was posted online.

On Tuesday, I personally noticed the constant updating of pictures every time I signed onto my computer and the MSN homepage had changed its headlines and pictures of the new president. A few years ago this event would not have been made as accessible to people, but due to the web, the power of uploading videos at lightning speed, and the ease of digital photography anyone around the world can feel like they were a part of this event in history.
