This weeks class was filled with tons of information on how to use google and all of its tools in the field of education. Lisa talked about how google can be used in a classroom and how teachers can filter it making it fit the specific needs of the class. I think this will be really useful in the future. There are many benefits of doing school work online: being able to access work anywhere in the world (therefore students won't have an excuse that they left their books in their locker and couldn't work on something), a second advantage of having things online is a technological issue, say the schools server crashed or got a virus (like Alex's school with the yearbook thing), students work would still be there online.
I think one thing that I will use in my teaching will be the survey/form for students to fill. Responses are then sent back in the form of a spreadsheet. This could be handy in many ways, simple survey questions to see where students are in their projects, or to give students a way to give comments and feedback on topics discussed in class.
The google calander will also be a great asset in online education. This is a nice place to organize where all the due dates are, as well as upcoming events.
The final tool that I feel will be most useful as a teacher is the Gmail accounts. By having these, students will be able to communicate between each other, and have a way to hand things in or pose questions to me in a more personal way rather than posting something on a blog for all to see.
